Thirsk Flat racing takes place from April to September. The track's biggest races are the Thirsk Classic Trial (April), that serves as a pointer to the 2,000 Guineas, and the Thirsk Hunt Cup Handicap in (May).



Draw Advantage:
High numbers favoured on the straight course, with low numbers best at 7f & 1m.


Flat racing only. This track has a sharp, undulating, left handed oval track of about a mile and a quarter, it has a run-in of about three and a half furlongs. Races of 5 and 6 furlongs are run on the straight.

Local trainers David Nicholls and Les Eyre are often worth following.
