Sandown

Sandown Park has races 26 times a year with their Jump and Flat racing seasons. The pinnacle of the calendar is the Whitbread Gold Cup in April, the Classic Trial in April and the Group One Eclipse Stakes in July. The course hosts top-class action throughout the year.

Draw Advantage:
High numbers good in sprints, especially in large fields on soft going.


This Flat and National Hunt racecourse has a right handed oval track of 1 mile and 5 furlongs in circumference, there is an uphill run from the home turn of 3.5 furlongs. There is a straight course of 5 furlongs running diagonally across the centre.

The National Hunt circuit runs mostly on the inside of the flat one, it crosses towards the outside of it on the home turn. There is an uphill run-in of 220 yards from the final obstacle.

On the chase track there are 3 fences close together at the end of the back straight called the 'Railway fences'.
