Newbury racecourse hosts the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup held at the end of November. The highlight in the summer is the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes.

Other feature events at the track include the Fred Darling and Greenham Stakes, always a pointer to the Guineas. Over the sticks, the Tote Gold Trophy over hurdles in February is a competitive contest and the Hennessy Gold Cup over fences in November attracts some of the best steeplechasers.

The course offers quality racing, first class facilities and great views of the course.

Draw Advantage:
High numbers best in the large fields, particularly in very soft ground.

Fences are difficult. A "top class" dual Flat and National Hunt track with a left-handed run-in of about 4 furlongs and a straight 1 mile course that is galloping in nature, that represents a test of stamina.
